A Fish Hunt with a Catch

Shady Cats is an arcade platformer where players collect fish while trying not to get caught by their own shadows. Move around the platforms, grab as many fish as possible, and watch out for the dark cats that appear along the way. They are not ordinary enemies. Each one copies a route taken earlier in the run. The game is available to play in a web browser, so there is no separate client to install. The platform checks basic playability and performance, with routine reviews during maintenance.

Collect Fish and Watch Your Steps

The main task is simple: move through the level and pick up fish. However, every 7 fish brings a new shadow-cat onto the screen. It follows the same movements you made before, which means your old path can become a problem later. Keep an eye out for Golden Fish and Fireflies. Golden Fish help increase the score multiplier, while Fireflies can get rid of one shadow. Both are useful, but reaching them is not always worth the risk.

At the beginning, there is usually enough room to move around. Later, several shadows may be following different routes at once. The game takes only a moment to learn, though staying alive for a long run requires patience and a bit of planning. It works well for quick attempts when there is time to spare.

Controls

• A / D or Left / Right Arrow: Move left or right.

• W, Up Arrow, or Space: Jump.

• Esc, P, or Tab: Pause.

• Touchscreen: Tap the on-screen buttons to move and jump.

Up to four players can share one device, with different keyboard layouts for each player.

Helpful Tips

• Look at the paths you have already taken. New shadows will repeat those movements.

• Avoid running back and forth through the same area when several shadows are nearby.

• Leave some space between your character and the edge of a platform before jumping.

• Pick up Golden Fish when the route is clear to build a better score multiplier.

• Save Fireflies for moments when a shadow is making it difficult to move.

• In Crazy Mode, choose power-ups that help with the next challenge.
